SPRINGBOARD YOUTH CLUB

Springboard is a specialist youth group for young people aged 10 – 20 who have, or are seeking a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

The weekly session offers young people the opportunity to make friends in a safe and supported environment. We offer computers, arts and crafts and games. The session is fairly unstructured but structure can be arranged if this helps particular individuals.

Term-time sessions are on Wednesday evenings 6.30 to 8.30 at The Fairfax Community Centre, Fairfax Avenue Harrogate, HG2 7RU.

Holiday sessions on Wednesdays are run at the Knaresborough Community Centre.

GIRLS GROUP

In 2019 it was recognised that there were significant number of children who were totally isolated. Our Girls Group was set up for Girls aged 9 – 18 who, for whatever reason are unable to access activities due to socially isolated. They are likely to be or have negative experiences of school and some are unable to attend school.

We work closely with parents for find an effective transition route for each girl to access the group. For each girl careful consideration and planning is put in place to allow the girls to attend the venue and to engage socially and with activities at a pace that is comfortable to them. There are opportunities to do craft activities and sports and to share some food.

Term-time sessions are on Tuesday evenings 6.30 to 8.30 The Fairfax Community Centre, Fairfax Avenue Harrogate, HG2 7RU.
